2. Write the market brief before the product brief
A factory cannot make useful decisions from "premium glove for North America"alone. Explain who will buy the product, where it will be sold, the playing level, the intended price position, the competing alternatives and the reason the new product should exist.

5. Give sample feedback that can be executed
"Make it better"is not an actionable revision. Identify the location, current condition, requested change, reason, measurement or visual reference, priority and approval owner. Combine feedback into one controlled document and assign a version number to every prototype.
Separate subjective preference from a failed requirement. A color preference, a fit problem and a missing construction feature are different types of feedback and should be recorded differently.
6. Define quality before bulk production
Quality cannot be added at the end. The buyer and manufacturer should agree which specification, sample and inspection criteria control the order. Relevant checkpoints can include incoming materials, construction details, dimensions, visual workmanship, branding, packaging and final quantity records.
Any compliance or test claim must be tied to the correct product, standard, market and supporting document. Do not borrow unrelated factory certificates or imply that one report covers every product.
7. Protect confidential development
- Use an NDA where commercially appropriate.
- Identify who owns buyer-supplied artwork and new project outputs.
- Do not send third-party brand files without authorization.
- Mark unreleased samples and project documents as confidential.
- Agree whether any case study, image or customer name may be published.
- Keep final approvals and version history accessible to both parties.
